The Formation Committee is responsible for the planning and implementation of the educational program at Emmanuel including GPS, One Way and The Other, and provides support to the Student Ministry Pastor in the Youth and Young Adult programming. They also oversee the distribution of student bursaries which are given to those attending secondary or post-secondary Christian schools.
The Library Committee, a sub-committee of Education, works at purchasing books, DVDs and other resource material for our Christian growth, personal enjoyment, worship and study. They keep our library tidy and, when necessary, go after an over-due book.
The Fellowship Committee plans a variety of congregational and community events designed to encourage relationship building, fellowship and fun.
The Facilities Committee is responsible for the physical building and its contents, its properties, and rentals. Together with the support staff and volunteers, they maintain the church grounds and buildings.
The Food Committee, a sub-committee of Facilities, coordinates church meals as well as some meals for rental groups. They are integral to the running of the kitchen and keeping everything up to health and safety codes.
The Missions Committee promotes missions and is active in mission and service projects in our congregation, community, and beyond. They are responsible for local outreach, evangelism, home and foreign missions, and peace concerns. They also keep the congregation informed about MCC (Mennonite Central Committee), MDS (Mennonite Disaster Service) and other mission programs.
The Worship Committee works with the pastors in planning our Sunday worship services. Their goals include: offering intergenerational services which invite people to encounter God, and promoting participation by all ages.
